Life is truly a lesson in going with the flow. Wonderful things happen when we allow ourselves to respond to the world around us, and co-create our experiences rather than trying to control them.
A smile, a random compliment, a kind word - all of these things go a long way for someone who needs them. It costs nothing to be kind and lift another up, but it brings enormous rewards, both seen and unseen.
There are enough people in the world who want to tell us what to do, who to be and even what we should be afraid of. It may even be easier to let others write the script for us, to follow along rather than create our own paths, but life is an art, a blank canvas, just waiting for our unique design.
Living our lives without experiencing it is like eating the cake without the icing. The sweet beauty of life is found in the richness of it all. Leaving fear behind to move forward into new adventures is what keeps life interesting and leaves us better for it.
It's a week for love! As such, I think it's a great reminder to bring love into everything we do. Love is bigger than romance and something that we can approach the world with every day.
Our capacity to receive is only limited by what we are willing to hold. A beautiful reminder that the abundance of life is always working for our highest good, if we welcome it in.
There are many things in life that we cannot change, that we have no control over, but we can change ourselves, our outlook and our attitude about a situation. We can change our perspective and how we see things.
We truly do see the world through the filter of our own experience, and as such we often tend to notice things in others that we recognize and know about ourselves. What a powerful mirror the world is for us!
Another beautiful reminder that gratitude can literally re-wire our brains to focus on the good in our lives. It's miraculous really! When we focus on all the wonderful things we have in our lives, we see more of it, and the things we lack have far less weight!
Every moment in our past has brought us to where we are now. New beginnings are available to us whenever we want them and our history can inform the next chapter.
Whether a random Thursday in September, or January 1, each day brings with it the promise and opportunity of new beginnings! A New Year does bring in an air and feeling of newness and promise. How will you use yours?
I've lived my life this way for a long time, every day is really Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day and our birthday if we decide to make it so. Do we really need a single day to remind us that life is beautiful and amazing? I believe in living each day in gratitude, appreciating those around us and our loved ones and giving gifts if the mood strikes us.
