Monday Morning Inspiration, October 5

"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together." —Vincent van Gogh

It’s easy to keep our eyes on the big things: the next goal, the next milestone, the next thing on the list. Sometimes we hurry through so many ordinary days that we forget how much of our life is happening along the way.

I’ll be honest: I haven’t always been good at slowing down. These last ten years, I’ve worked hard. Plenty of mornings, my coffee went cold, and I rushed out the door without even pausing to appreciate the Caribbean waters I can see from my home.

Even in those busy years, there were small moments that meant so much. The quiet hours spent creating a piece of jewelry for someone special, the way a person’s eyes light up when they see the design made just for them, the conversations across the counter that had nothing to do with jewelry at all.

Those moments were never part of a business plan, but they’ve become some of the most meaningful parts of this work. It’s easy to feel the pressure to do more, grow bigger, and move faster. Yet so much of what I love about what I do comes from taking my time and making those personal connections, especially with people who get as excited about what I do as I am.

This quote reminds me that the small things add up. In our work, our relationships, and the lives we’re creating, what we do each day matters.

So this week, I hope you’ll take a little time to notice what’s right in front of you. I’ll be reminding myself to do the same.

What small thing brings you joy right now? Maybe it deserves a little more of your time.

Happy Monday!
