The Making of the Caribbean Larimar Necklace with Handmade Links

Not everyone spends their days on Instagram, and honestly, good for you. So for those of you who’d rather skip the scrolling, here’s a seat at my workbench 💙

Making this necklace is second nature. Filming myself making it is an entirely separate job. 😂

Make a few links. Answer the phone. Hammer, solder, file. Customers walk in. Chat about gemstones. Come back to the workbench. Now… where was I? Somewhere in there, I’m also trying to remember to hit record.

This is my bestselling Larimar necklace, and every bit of it is made by hand: each individual hammered silver link, right down to the clasp. There’s a lot of work tucked into a piece like this, and even three minutes is the highly condensed version. I left out several steps, especially since this one sold before it was even finished.

I love getting into the flow at the bench, and filming adds one more interruption to an always eventful day. But I know how much you enjoy seeing what happens back there, so every so often, you get to come along.

And if you stick around until the end, please admire the finished necklace and graciously overlook my hair. It’s been through the whole workday with me.

Would you love one of your own? This one found its home before it was even finished, but the next one is already in progress at my bench. If you’d like something in this style made just for you, reach out at info@fantaseajewelry.com or (340) 244-3110 and we’ll talk it through.
