I’ve always loved this quote - maybe because I am a small business owner AND a dancer!

I believe it is our mission, our calling, as artists to bring more beauty into the world, and my business allows me to do this every day! When I sell a piece of jewelry that I have created with my own hands and curated with my own vision, to a person who truly loves it - well, there are few things I love more in this world! Sharing my art with the people who enjoy it feels a bit like sending little bits of magic and positivity out into the world. I hope that you feel the same when you wear a piece that I have created for you!

I couldn’t imagine doing anything other than what I do for a living. I am blessed to be able to create beautiful and meaningful pieces, for customers who get almost as excited about my work as I do. My mission is to create more than jewelry, but to capture memories, moments, feelings and stories through my work. Being a small business owner is a huge part of who I am and I aim to always be able to infuse personal connection into all of my business interactions.

I still get excited every time someone puts on a piece of jewelry I have made and gets “that look”. The look that expresses a feeling of pure delight. I still get that feeling when I put on my favorite piece of jewelry - a piece that has a story, and a moment, that belongs solely to that piece, and lives on in my heart. I’ve watched husbands and partners reach for the credit cards because they see the light in the eyes of the person they love - and they want to prolong that moment of joy.

Life moves fast. Island life reminds me everyday to slow down (even when I don’t want to). I choose to live in paradise because I believe in a different way of life than the hustle and bustle of the mainland. I believe in the goodness of people and I get to experience that everyday thanks to what I do and where I live. 

Small Business Saturday gives me the opportunity to look back on the year, and this has been a big year for my business! Moving into a new, larger space and expanding my offerings from jewelry to art has been a wonderful evolution. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store!

Thanksgiving should be about gratitude and appreciation (and spent with those we love).

Black Friday should be spent at the beach (Island Girls do BLUE Friday!) napping off your tryptophan hangover in the sun and sand.

Small Business Saturday is a day to celebrate the hardworking small business owners who are trying to give their families, and themselves (and in my case, my cat!) a better life through hard work and dedication to our passion!
