"Every season is one of becoming, but not always one of blooming. Be gracious with your ever-evolving self." — B. Oakman
There is something so comforting about remembering that growth does not always look big and bright, like flowers blooming all the time. We tend to celebrate the seasons that are easy to recognize. The ones where life feels full and brilliant. The ones where things are coming together, opportunities are opening, creativity is flowing, and we can clearly see the beauty of what is unfolding.
But not every season looks like that.
Some seasons are quieter. Some are more uncertain. Some feel like waiting, healing, rebuilding, resting, or simply trying to find our footing again. And while those seasons may not look as beautiful from the outside, they are often just as important.
Nature reminds us of this over and over again. Before something blooms, there is so much happening beneath the surface. Roots are strengthening. Energy is gathering. The next version of life is forming long before we can see it, and we are the same way.
We are always becoming, even when we do not feel especially radiant or inspired. Even when we are tired. Even when we are unsure. Even when life feels more like preparation than celebration. There is grace in allowing ourselves to be in process.
We do not have to be blooming all the time to be growing. We do not have to have everything figured out to be moving forward. We do not have to turn every season of life into something polished, productive, or easy to explain.
So this week, may we be a little gentler with ourselves. May we honor the quiet changes, the unseen growth, and the tender in-between places. May we remember that every season has its purpose, even the ones that ask us simply to keep becoming.
And may we trust that when it is time to bloom again, we will.
Happy Monday!
