"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls."— Pablo Picasso
Art interrupts the noise.
It gives us a moment to pause, to breathe, to feel something beyond our to-do list. A painting can shift our mood. A piece of music can unlock a memory. A beautifully crafted ring can remind someone of who they are. A gathering of creative people in one room can reconnect us to hope.
That isn’t extra. That’s essential.
As artists, we are not here simply to produce tangible things. We are here to create moments of remembering. To remind people of beauty. Of possibility. Of light. Of emotion. Of humanity.
And as collectors, appreciators, and participants in the arts, we are allowing ourselves to be washed clean, even if just for a moment, of the heaviness we carry.
In times like these, when the world can feel loud and divided and overwhelming, art becomes even more important. Not because it distracts us from reality, but because it strengthens us to meet it.
Beauty softens us without weakening us. Creativity reconnects us to our own inner life. Art doesn’t remove the dust permanently, life will always leave its mark, but it gives us space to exhale.
This week, I invite you to intentionally seek out something that washes your soul a little bit clean. Step into a creative space. Listen to music that moves you. Write. Paint. Journal. Visit a gallery. Wear something that makes you feel beautiful.
Let art do what it was always meant to do.
Wash the dust away.
Happy Monday!
