Monday Morning Inspiration, June 15

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." — Steve Jobs

The beginning of a new chapter is always inspiring, that fresh slate, blank canvas kind of vibe. There is something even more inspiring about being around young people at the beginning of a new chapter.

This past week, I had the joy of attending my niece’s graduation, where she was valedictorian of her class. Watching her, and so many young people standing at the edge of possibility was such a beautiful reminder of how much life is still unwritten, for all of us.

There is a certain kind of magic in that moment. The future is wide open. Dreams still feel close enough to touch. The path ahead may not be perfectly clear, but there is energy, hope, and a sense that anything is possible, and in many ways, that feeling is not only for graduates.

At any age, we are still becoming. We are still allowed to listen to the quiet pull of our hearts. We are still allowed to dream new dreams, change direction, begin again, and choose a life that feels true to who we are.

This quote is such a powerful reminder that our time here is precious. It is easy to get caught up in what other people expect of us, what looks practical, what seems impressive, or what makes sense from the outside, but a life built only around other people’s approval can quietly pull us away from our own truth.

Following your heart does not always look logical to everyone else. Inspiration can be inconvenient. Dreams can feel uncertain. The path that is right for you may not make sense to someone standing on the outside of it. My journey to the state I was born in reminded me of this. My journey has not been the "norm", and I have done many things that made people wonder about me, and sometimes even worry. I have known forever that my vision and my path were my soul's calling, and I was determined to follow that.

Sometimes the most meaningful choices are the ones that require us to trust something that goes beyond traditional logic and the status quo. Sometimes it is a feeling, a pull, a small inner knowing that says, "this is the way, this is my truth".

We do not have unlimited time to become who we really are. We do not have unlimited time to say yes to what lights us up, to create what we are here to create, to love fully, to take the chance, to make the change, or to live in a way that feels honest and alive.

Because our lives are not meant to be carbon copies of someone else’s expectations. They are meant to be lived from the inside out, shaped by our own hearts, our own dreams, our own courage, and our own sense of wonder.

Happy Monday!
