Monday Morning Inspiration, June 8

"Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still."— Chinese Proverb

Growth does not usually look very impressive from the outside. It can look like taking one small step forward when you would rather hide under a blanket, like making the decision you have been putting off, having the conversation you have been avoiding, trying again after something did not work, or simply choosing not to give up on yourself.

We live in a world that tends to celebrate fast, obvious, shiny growth. Big leaps. Big changes. Big announcements. The before-and-after moment, but most meaningful growth is much quieter than that.

It happens slowly, in all the little ways we keep showing up for our lives. In the tiny shifts in perspective. In the habits we build, one ordinary day at a time. The way we learn to trust ourselves a little more. The way we begin to respond differently to the same old challenges.Slow growth is still growth.

A seed does not become a flower overnight. The ocean does not shape stone in a single wave. Even the most beautiful gemstones are formed through time, pressure, and conditions we cannot always see from the surface.

There is nothing wrong with moving slowly. There is nothing wrong with being in a season where progress feels subtle, private, or unfinished. You do not have to rush the becoming.

The only thing to watch for is where you may have stopped moving entirely. Where fear, perfectionism, disappointment, or exhaustion may have convinced you to stand still when your heart is quietly asking for one next step. Not a giant leap. Not a perfectly mapped-out plan. Just one small movement in the direction of the person you are becoming, in the direction of your next level, in the direction of your goals and dreams.

This week, may you give yourself permission to go and grow at your own pace. Trust the slow, steady work happening beneath the surface, and remember that even the smallest step forward is still a beautiful act of faith in your own becoming.

Happy Monday!
