"You're only given a little spark of madness, you mustn't lose it." - Robin Williams
"A little spark of madness..." is such a beautiful thing. In the movie Good Will Hunting, Robin Williams' character refers to our human quirks and idiosyncrasies as "the good stuff", and I truly believe that!
This past Christmas, I watched the Disney/ Pixar movie "Soul", and it has become one of my favorites from those production studios, right up there with Monsters. Inc. I've become a sucker for children's movies again, since all of them have such beautifully simple and magically delivered wisdom.
As a creative, I am well attuned to that spark, the creativity that lives in all of us, but is often forgotten or pushed aside by "real life". I like to think is it a spark of madness, which makes us so much more interesting. Finding it again is the storyline for so many wonderful movies and books, and in my opinion, what life is all about!
What is the spark that lies inside of you?
I can't recommend the movie, "Soul", highly enough, for some real feel good vibes and a reminder of the creative, childlike magic that we could all use more of! Here's a preview...
What does it take to be truly happy? It's a lot simpler than most of us make it out to be. This quote is a great reminder that happiness is an inside job! We have everything within ourselves to be truly happy, joyous and free.
I love the idea of showing up in the world as the best version of ourselves. We all have different gifts and talents, and life is really about sharing that gift, our own unique light, with the world. When we show up as our true selves, we give those around us permission to do the same.
