This is one of my all-time favorite quotes! Self love is the most important thing, because if we can't love ourselves, we won't be able to love anyone else. Just as we can't pour from an empty cup, fill yourself with love first and there will be so much more love to go around. 

I am often guilty of making sure everyone around me is okay, and everything is taken care of before I even think about taking care of myself. It's such a hard habit to break, but there really is magic in taking care of ourselves. As the quote says, when we show ourselves love, we show others how to love us, and not only that - but how to love themselves also. 

A couple of weeks ago I canceled a work commitment to do something for myself, and it felt indeed, like a RADICAL and FIERCE act of self-love. While I may not always be quote so bold in my actions, it is something I aspire to!
