Beach Photo Shoot in Paradise

It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it! Besides living in paradise and creating beautiful things for a living, sometimes I get to hang out on the beach in the middle of the week for photo shoots too!

I had always envisioned my jewelry going from fancy dinners to beach casual - and my recent photo shoot captured the latter. Casual, island girl style with fabulous jewels. This is really MY style after all. I may wear simple jeans, tank tops, and flip flops most of the time, but you better believe I am wearing all my favorite jewelry too!

I’m not kidding when I say I had been planning this shoot in my head for years - I really had! Finally, all the pieces came together. When I went to search out a photographer to bring this all to life, I immediately came across an Instagram account I had been following for months - not even realizing she was a photographer! Though she has since changed her business name, at the time Meredith Zimmerman Photography was known as “Salt Water and Sol” - could that be any more appropriate?

Next, my beautiful model, Avory, is a friend and local yoga teacher. I also made her engagement ring when she and her partner got engaged in Italy! Very exciting! I couldn’t think of a better combination of women to bring my dream photo shoot to life!

Not a bad office view on a Tuesday afternoon in February! We enjoyed some late afternoon sunshine and an empty beach, the schooner Roseway in the distance just beyond Green Cay island. The sun went down while we changed outfits and adorned Avory in various jewelry combinations. Not a terrible day at work for any of us, I’d say!

Overall I couldn’t be happier with the energy, feeling, and beauty captured in these shots. A true glimpse into what life in paradise not only looks like but feels like as well. Casual, laid back, beautiful with an elegant lightness.
