Art Thursday in Christiansted is a monthly art event that takes place once a month, “in season”, from November through May on St. Croix. Local art galleries and jewelry stores stay open late for a unique evening shopping and social event on the quaint streets of downtown Christiansted. 

This is such a wonderful event and a good reminder of the incredibly talented and varied artists who live on our island, with many of the stores offering wine, cheese, and other light refreshments while you mingle. It is a perfect excuse to head into town, do a little shopping, meet and chat with local artists and enjoy dinner at one of the island’s fabulous downtown restaurants. My personal favorites when dining downtown are balter, 40 Strand, Zion Modern Kitchen and the new kid on the block, 17/64 (these are the coordinates for the island of St. Croix, in case you were wondering!).

You’ll find FantaSea Jewelry set up in The Alcove at Quin House on Art Thursdays from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. This beautiful space is next door to Zion Modern Kitchen and just a few steps away from Market Square. Even with the new studio space downtown, I couldn’t give up my place in the Alcove! I absolutely adore being in the company of the other artists and makers who set up there - we really are like a little family and show one another love and support - something that is so unique and beautiful about not only our art community but our St. Croix community as a whole! We share, collaborate and build one another up rather than being competitive and breaking others down. This is one of the best things about our island, as it is the people, and their spirits, kindness and generosity, that truly is inspiring and uplifting.
