This is often the first suggestion when you call a technical support line, what if we looked to this bit of wisdom first when something feels like it isn't working within ourselves? What if our first response was to stop, reset, and take a breath, rather than to go, fix, take action etc...
Over the weekend, since it was my birthday, I took some time to do exactly this. I unplugged and recharged - something that doesn't come naturally or easy to me these days. As a creative business owner, time and space in our schedules are very important to continue to access the inspiration and creativity our work needs. It is very different than the "traditional" model of business many others are built on.
I always recommend rest, downtime, self-care and time for things that bring us joy - however I rarely follow my own advice! So this weekend, I did exactly that.
