Labradorite is a member of the feldspar family, like its close cousin, moonstone. Named for the first place it was found, Labrador, Canada, this stone truly mirrors the brilliant colors of the Northern Lights! This phenomenon is called Labradorescence, the luminous, rainbow, or colored flash the stone exhibits when turned in the light. Labradorite stones can also show blue, teal, and green flash on a dark body color.
